Position Summary
Telecom is seeking a full-time Post-Sales AV Engineer based in our New York headquarters. This is a fast-paced environment and requires accuracy and attention to detail. This position is an important bridge between the Pre-Sales Engineering and the Project Management. Responsibilities include accurate review & specification of materials, equipment, and supplies; preliminary/final drafting of connection/wiring diagrams coordinating materials with manufacturers/distribution working with Project Management, Account Management and Estimating for pricing and sourcing of materials, equipment, and supplies. This position does qualify for remote based working opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Scope Review & Project Handoff
- Review finalized SOW from Sales for technical completeness and clarity
- Identify potential gaps, overlaps, or risks in scope
- Participate in internal project kickoff meetings
- BOM Refinement & Value Engineering
- Evaluate pre-sales BOM for completeness, accuracy, and compatibility
- Recommend substitutions or consolidations for cost-effectiveness or standardization
- Confirm all parts are orderable and available within project timelines
- Technical Documentation & Drawings
- Refine and finalize AV system drawings (signal flows, rack elevations, floorplans)
- Create or update wiring diagrams and labeling schedules
- Ensure all documentation aligns with SOW and BOM
- Project Engineering Support
- Answer technical RFIs from PMs or installers during execution
- Provide clarification and support for system configuration and commissioning
- Occasionally visit project sites to verify conditions or support system integration
- Standards & Quality Control
- Apply internal engineering standards and best practices across projects
- Participate in design QA/QC processes
- Maintain templates and documentation libraries

Qualifications
- Required:
- 3+ years experience in AV integration or engineering
- Proficiency in AV systems design including DSPs, control systems, video switching, and conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of signal flow, equipment compatibility, and system design
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, elevations, and technical schematics
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and project documentation
- Preferred:
- CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, or equivalent AV industry certification
- Experience with AV9000 practices or similar QA/QC methodologies
- Familiarity with construction and MEP coordination
- Understanding of networked AV (AV-over-IP, Dante, AES67, etc.)
